Randy Travis, a country music artist, has revealed a life-changing medical Health Issues

Randy Travis is one of the most popular country music artists of all time, with over 25 million records sold worldwide. He’s been honored with 10 ACM Awards, 11 CMA Awards, and seven Grammy Awards. In 2016, he was admitted to the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Following a severe stroke in 2013, Randy’s wife, Mary, spoke candidly about his condition. He was identified as having aphasia, a brain injury that causes the loss of speech comprehension and expression.
Travis, a singer known for his loud voice, suddenly has difficulty speaking. The fact that so many country music icons are uniting to celebrate his career means a lot to him, according to Mary. “I mean, just knowing that he created the music that he did and that it endures” As Mary explains, Randy grinned and nods in accord.

“And then to have tributes to you when you can’t sing the music, but someone else will step in, sing the song in your place, and some of the great artists that do step in, you know, who say, “Hey, I want to be one of those who sing your music” when they have a full library of their own music. Nevertheless, it’s like, ‘I just I want to dedicate this time and this energy to singing your music because it made a difference in my life,’” she continued.
Travis was born in Marshville, North Carolina, in 1959, and he started singing in church at a young age. His father taught him how to play the guitar. Travis relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue a career in music after finishing high school.

In 1985, Warner Bros. Records offered Travis his first record deal. When “Storms of Life,” his debut album, was published in 1986, it became a commercial hit. The album gave rise to the top-charting singles “1982,” “On the Other Hand,” and “Diggin’ Up Bones.”
Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Travis continued to put out popular albums. He had three albums that all peaked at number one on the Billboard country charts: “Always and Forever” (1987), “No Defense” (1988), and “Full Circle” (1990). During this period, Travis also received many honors, including the 1988 Grammy for Best Country Male Vocal Performance for “Forever and Ever, Amen.”
Travis experienced a stroke and congestive heart failure in 2013. During his recovery, he endured surgery and intense therapy.

Randy Travis: Celebrating a Life of Music, Resilience, and Inspiration

Mary recalled his early years by saying, “Starting when he was 4 or 5 years old, his daddy had him listen to these songs, and he was playing them.” This is the essence of country music. This is the essence of music. It brings out the best in everyone, you know. And just the heart, compassion, and kindness. Everything is from the heart. That was very important to us, therefore. And we are very grateful to Tim, even for that brief period.
He’s really dependable, she said. We really relied on God, you know. It’s hard to realize that it has been 10 years since the stroke. There are truly no words to describe it, and not a day goes by that I don’t simply praise God for his mercy and grace.
“We want people to understand strokes, stroke rehabilitation, and that there is life after stroke,” Mary said to Fox News. “We did discover that living is the finest recovery, despite all the rehab we underwent. Just go outside. Go perform your former activity. The world might be wondering why you’re out there, but you should just go out there and, you know, dance like no one is looking, sing like no one is listening, and generally have fun. The best therapy, in fact.

Randy Travis: The Heart and Soul of Country Music

“And we want people to comprehend aphasia because it is a difficult condition, but one in three stroke patients – I don’t call them victims – also have aphasia. I refer to them as survivors, but just one in three. Your aphasia is affecting you. It might only be slight. It might be quite significant. Because of this side of the brain and the damaged area of the brain, Randy’s happens to be significant. And because it took three days to detect, it was a significant stroke.
She said, “gosh, where would we be without Randy’s music. He may not have been great in English and history and all these other topics, but gosh. What would happen if this music didn’t exist? Therefore, we want to ensure that the children that learn from that side of the brain have access to all of the opportunities available in academia.
